The only theme park of its kind in Europe, Micropolis, la cité des insectes [Micropolis: City of Insects] pays tribute to entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre, a famous son of the Lévézou, and builds on the interest created by the film Microcosmos.

Plunge deep into nature to make extraordinary discoveries about the world of the tiniest creatures.
Micropolis is an indoor discovery trail including 15 exhibition rooms, a 3D cinema, an interactive tactile wall, an exhibition on "the fantastical world of Jean-Henri Fabre", a restaurant and a shop, extending over a total of 2400 sq m, set in building of outstanding architectural interest.
Come and meet over 70 living species from the four corners of the world, tropical butterflies, beetles, leafcutter ant, bees, tarantulas... Discover their secrets! Go inside their nests, make believe you're an ant, run the gauntlet of the traps laid by carnivorous plants... In short, enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience!
And then, go outside, for a packed hour's adventure in the open air, join in the Insects' Carnival, a fun trail where insects, grown to the size of giants and made of metal, are waiting for you to arrive to launch the festivities.

> February 13th sees the launch of the season with a brand new 3D film, an exciting experience for all the family !
> Starting on16 April and running throughout the season "Minute Papillon ! " visit the outdoor display featuring the latest exhibition of the naturalist photographer Paul Starosta and, from 16 April to 1 May, take part in the "Make your own little creature!" creative workshops .
> On 21 and 22 May, join in the Nature celebrations!
>On 18 June: Apidays, Bee Festival forming part of the "Bees, Guardians of the Environment".programme. During July and August: have fun in the heart of the City with the brand new interactive facilities offering three different
types of tour (traditional tour, children's tour for 7 to 12 year-olds with multi-media games, and a family visit with collaborative activities for parents and children under 7.
> From 25 June to 31 August 2016: BUGS Exhibition
The artist Hugo Boistelle exhibits his superb paper creations. Exhibition organised by the Association of Friends of Jean-Henri Fabre.
> From 1 July to 31 August: follow in the footsteps of the father of modern entomology, Jean Henri Fabre and see the house where he was born, unusual objects dating from the 19th century, his major works and a simply wonderful display of insect specimens. This is chance to see rare specimens and exclusive displays.
> 17 and 18 September: European Heritage days, in the footsteps of Jean-Henri Fabre.
From 18 October to 2 November: All Souls is the time when, traditionally, the little creatures come out of their hidey holes...Special Halloween event!

March, September, October and November: open Wednesdays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm and at weekends from 10am to 6pm, closed Mondays and Tuesdays weekly except during school holidays.

Adult self guided tour: €13.80 (during July and August, the entry fee includes a tour of the house where Henri Fabre was born, also in the village of Saint Léons)
